Apart from being fun and social events at which lifeguards from different beaches get together and challenge each other, competitions are designed to hone lifeguards rescue skills and keep them fit.  Qualified lifeguards over the age of 14 and nippers between the ages of 8 and 14 who have passed their competency exams may compete for their clubs.  For more information on eligibility and event details see the relevant sections on the right.
