ER24/DISCOVERY MEDICOPTER - Real Help, Real Fast!
LWP and NSRI received some great news with the confirmation that ER24 and Discovery Health will come on board and sponsor the Western Cape Surf Rescue Helicopter this season.
This festive season one of the newly launched Discovery Health Medicopters, a BO105, will be made available to the Surf Rescue crew made up of National Sea Rescue Institute and Lifesaving WP volunteers. This service will be available in the greater Cape Town area for the December school holidays and provides much needed assistance to the lifeguards on our beaches when rescue situations arise outside of their patrol areas. The daily crew consists of a Base 4 Aviation helicopter pilot, a NSRI patterer, a ER24 paramedic and a LWP rescue swimmer
LWP's Helicopter coordinator, Martin Vleggaar, and his crew of rescue jumpers are ready and raring to go! We would like to thank ER24 and Discovery Health for making this service possible and ensuring even more beach goers will be safe and sound this festive season.
