NEW BALANCE FISH HOEK SLC WINS FIRST NIPPER COMPETITION
Clifton SLC hosted a very successfull nipper competition this past sunday (29th Nov '09) in which nearly 300 nippers took part. A bumper crop of 101 new nippers and 103 upgrades went through the previous weekend in preparation for the competition.
An early morning start saw some eager nippers and tired parents hitting Clifton 4th beach at 7am but as soon as the sunscreen, skullcaps and safety officers were ready, the comp kicked off with a bang. Nippers competed for their clubs in 5 events: Body board, Surf Swim, Board race, Beach flags and Beach run. New Balance Fish Hoek SLC won with 478 points in total, followed by Big Bay SLC and Strand SLC. The u/10 age group was won by Big Bay with Fish Hoek in 2nd and Clifton in 3rd while the u/12 age group was won by Fish Hoek with Big Bay and Strand taking 2nd and 3rd. The u/14 age group was again won by Fish Hoek with Alpha taking 2nd place and Strand in 3rd. Detailed age group results are available in the Results section of our website.
